FeaturePoints: Get Money for Downloading Apps!

FeaturePoints is an app that's compatible with iOS or Android phones that allows you to get points for downloading totally free apps, which can be exchanged for gift cards, including PayPal, Amazon, Steam, others, or even buy yourself a phone app with your points!

Below we will discuss how much I've been able to earn with it so far, and my techniques for getting extra points!

Downloading The App

Okay so I'm pretty sure, at least for iOS, that FeaturePoints isn't searchable through the App Store. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you need to visit the FeaturePoints website (links below) on your phone's web browser in order to download the app! Click the appropriate button depending on what phone you have, and your download should start!

Earning Points

So when you download the app, you'll be brought to a screen called "Get Points" that lists all the available apps to download, followed by how many points you'll receive for doing so. This is where you want to be!

Of course, at first you're going to want to aim for the apps that offer about 90-150+ points, and get all of these out of the way. When you click on the app, you should scroll down and see what the instructions are -- it's not simply just download. Some require you to open it and leave it open for at least 1 minute, while others require that you actually complete the tutorials. Usually after about a minute or two of just having the app open, I check back on FeaturePoints and it has credited me the points.

Be aware that if you have downloaded that app at any point in the past, even if you deleted it, you will NOT earn points for it. You can tell if this applies to you when you're about to download the app -- there will be a "cloud" icon instead of a "GET" button in the app-store. This means you've already downloaded it in the past, and you won't earn points for it.

After you complete the initial big-point downloads, you can choose to do the low-point ones if you think it's worth it. Usually I get bored at this point and close the app, and just wait for the next day, because I'm pretty sure they update the big-point downloads every day, or at least every week. My personal gauge of whether it's worth the time or not, is if the points is 75 or more, but that's just me!

How To Earn Extra Points

This is how I earned almost 2000 points in a single evening of boredom. After downloading all the big-point apps myself, I then sent an invite text to my best friend who was sitting next to me and had her download all the big-point apps as well, as we hung out. This gave me a percentage of their points with every download. In theory, if I had more people around me willing to do so, I could have earned even more. If you live with your parents, make them download the app too! A lot of people don't mind because they download apps anyway, and it's kind of fun when you're bored.

Beside each app, there's two icons. A "FP" icon which is how many points you will earn for downloading the app, and a smiley face that says "+X Bonus" -- this is how much your "referee" (the person who referred you) will earn as well! So in theory, if you referred someone, that's how much bonus you will receive! It's a great cycle that encourages a little bit of teamwork!

The cool part about FeaturePoints is that I've actually found a couple really cool games through it, so it hasn't been a waste of time at all.

Rewards

If you click the "Rewards" tab in the app, you will see a list of redeemable rewards. You can choose your own app from the app store for 200 Points. The next reward is for 3000 points for a couple different $5 gift cards, including Starbucks and Xbox. The first Amazon gift card starts at 15,000 points for $25 and goes all the way up to 600,000 points for $1000 Amazon! Right now the lowest PayPal gift card is for $50 at 30,000 points -- a bit steep, but they might add other options after I post this. Keep your eye out!

There's also cheaper redeemable rewards for various apps, for example you could get the game "Five Nights at Freddy's" for 1794 points, which is a game originally worth $2.99 on the app store!

As I said, I easily earned roughly 2000 points in one night from using my friend's phone. So explore with your options!

Things To Be Aware Of

As some of the download instructions say, be sure you leave the app open for at least 1-2 minutes before checking for your points. If this isn't doing the trick, try either completing the tutorial if it's a game, or if it's a "sign up" app, just press the "sign up" button but don't actually type anything in. Sometimes I would sign up using Facebook because it's way faster, and then later I would just remove it from my Facebook account, but that's up to your personal preference.

Be sure not to switch your internet connection while downloading the app or having it open -- either stay strictly on WiFi or your data, don't switch between the two. However, that being said, I highly recommend you only use WiFi while using FeaturePoints, for two reasons: 1) If you don't have unlimited data, it will suck up all your data really fast to download all these apps, and 2) Sometimes using data is slower, depending on your Wifi connection.

Feel free to delete the apps you've downloaded immediately after being credited your points, but be SURE that you were credited the points before you delete it, because otherwise you won't be able to try again, since the app will think you've already downloaded the app in the past. You can see your "pending offers" if you scroll down on the main "get points" page, and it'll show you whether the activity has been completed -- or you can just check your point currency in the top right of the app.

The top left icon with the smiley face and number is how many people have used your referral code! Be sure to invite your friends to earn bonuses!

Wrap Up

FeaturePoints is a really great app that rewards you for downloading free apps, which you probably already do. It has an awesome choice of redeemable rewards, and actually offers a good amount of points per app, in my opinion. Using the share-bonus system, you can easily make a great chunk of points every day if you're on top of it!

If you feel like you've learned something from this write-up and want to help me out, please feel free to use my FeaturePoints referral link or code (MPXY5A) -- you will start out with 50 extra points, which is actually a pretty great bonus, as well as help me out tremendously.
